 2025 ABOTA Foundation Civics Summit

Philadelphia, PA

The ABOTA Foundation is hosting their 2nd Civics Summit at the Annenberg Public Policy Center at University of Pennsylvania on June 26-27, 2025! This free 2-day professional development program is designed for teachers to learn from judges, professionals, and SMEs and enhance the civics education in their classroom.

What to Expect:

  • Our team of volunteer lawyers and will join classrooms virtually to read aloud specially selected books that explore themes related to law, justice and civic responsibility.

  • The sessions last 30-45 minutes and are ideal for grades 2-5.

  • Following each reading, students will have the opportunity to participate in lively discussions, sharing their thoughts, questions and insights.

Benefits for students:

  • Explores legal concepts in a fun and educational way

  • Celebrates the Constitution and the Rule of Law.

  • Promotes interest in the law to young people.

  • Develops critical thinking by encouraging students to think critically about the principles of justice and fairness and the rule of law

  • Promotes Literacy by cultivating a love for reading and learning through engaging storytelling.
